Snails are amazing, weird, never sexualised, they are born already with their shells, they are so unique I cannot believe it.

A Little Bit About The Artist
A Statement From The Artist
I am Urte (Ronja), an artist from Lithuania interested in the fantastical and the obscure.
By creating rituals of the underworld, I try to shift the viewpoint of the people who see my works. I hope it brings them to believe, or remember, that something magical still exists, you just have to be open to finding it.
Whats your favourite monster and why?

Snail-people in 'Uzumaki' by Junji Ito, such a beautiful idea, I cannot get it out of my head. I'm not sure if they are monsters, but there is a monstrous feeling around them.

Do you like scary movies? And if so which ones?

If they are good. I loved 'Pulse' by Kiyoshi Kurosawa and 'Possession' by Andrzej Żuławski.
What’s the biggest influence on your work?

People who do anything with a lot of passion, folk tales, fairytales, nature, and love.
