Haeckel’s Chimera is a large-scale, multi-part ceramic sculpture, inspired by Ernst Haeckel’s Art Forms in Nature and the intricate fusion of human, animal, and ornamental elements. Drawing from 100 pen sketches of creatures and plants, the work combines the natural world with the extraordinary. The sculpture evokes transformation, blending anatomical references with imaginative forms, including a cast of the artist’s own arm to suggest a metamorphosis between human and creature.
