This mixed media piece combines a unique mannequin made by an artist local to me who let me borrow it as a part of the piece. The work is an embodiment of the feeling of being left behind and being trapped in a small town, the photographs are taken just outside of my childhood home in essex. There is an accompanying video with this piece which is somewhat more atmospheric.

Inspired by Horror and Surrealism Eleanor Helliwell’s work combines beauty and gore through many mediumsThe artist is concerned with the commodification of freedom and how we in the West trade the freedom of other human beings in other countries for geopolitical concerns, cheap goods, energy and narrow nationalistic political self interest.

I love watching scary movies, particularly those that explore i’m a big fan of horror films some of my favourites include viy (1967) and anything sion sono.
