A Little Bit About The Artist

A Statement From The Artist

My practices explores themes of monstrosity and the abject through the lens of femininity, specifically what I feel is my own transgressive femininity. This transgressive identity is represented through my cannibal alter ego, a better, hungrier version of myself who rather than be afraid of her excessive consumption revels in it. I utilise paintings, drawings and my own writing to bring her to into our world.

Whats your favourite monster and why?

My favourite monster is the werewolf, as I like the idea of embracing the animalistic side of yourself.

Do you like scary movies? And if so which ones?

I love scary movies, my favourites are horror comedies like Jennifer's body or really any that feature a monstrous woman.

What’s the biggest influence on your work?

Literature and films, I'm really into media that features a monstrous woman who wins or is celebrated.
