Let me introduce you to an important character of the new "Alice cherche Alice" Series! This cute (?) little rabbit is a haunted creature of Wonderland. His name is Yami-Bunny. He is a familiar and a guide to every Alice, but sometimes he feels so surrounded by love that he gets hungry…

A Little Bit About The Artist
A Statement From The Artist
As a black Caribbean, queer, and neurodivergent artist, my work exists at the intersection of personal identity and collective experience. My practice spans painting, sculpture, writing, and performance, with a deep focus on exploring the tension between vulnerability and resilience.
Guided by the theme of “turning the inside out,” my creations often delve into the subconscious, reflecting the psychological and societal fractures that shape our lives. My early paintings were visceral depictions of the hallucinations I experienced—eyes, mouths, and hands that simultaneously menace and mesmerize. In recent years, my work has expanded into ceramics, installations, and interactive pieces that blur the lines between “Kawaii (cute)” and “Kowai (creepy),” reflecting a fascination with the dualities of beauty and fear, intimacy and alienation.
Through an embrace of imperfection and raw emotion, I investigate themes of sexuality, social constructs, and mental health. My practice is deeply informed by my lived experience and a desire to challenge narratives surrounding marginalization and identity.
For me, art is both a catharsis and a dialogue—a way to confront the unsettling while inviting others to find connection and empathy within the cracks of humanity.
Whats your favourite monster and why?

I would say I really love the creepypasta monsters and SCPs? Like I was so scared of them growing up but they are part of my spooky imaginary.

Do you like scary movies? And if so which ones?

Yes, even though I sometimes prefer thrillers. I love The Visit by Night M. Shyamalan. The intrigue is gripping but at the same time things slowly decay - you could even call it "horror slow-burn"!

What’s the biggest influence on your work?

It used to be my mental health as a woman living with psychosis and in a way it still is, but I want to explore my nostalgia more. I grew up with anime, manga and j-fashion, and I feel like both dark and light sides of kawaii cuteness are going to inspire me more in the future!
