A Little Bit About The Artist
A Statement From The Artist
My work explores the haunting and enigmatic facets of human existence. Through the use of acrylic and dry pastel, I depict a shadowy figure with hollow, sorrowful eyes and no mouth, embodying a profound silence. This absence of expression invites viewers to reflect on hidden emotions and untold stories. The interplay of dark tones and soft textures evokes both vulnerability and depth, resonating with the unspoken layers of the psyche. It is a portrait of what lingers beneath the surface, a quiet echo of shared human fragility.
Whats your favourite monster and why?

One of my favorite mythical creatures is Baba Yaga, also known as Baba Roga. As a child, we were often scared by stories of her – an old witch who lived in the forest and would kidnap and eat children. She was depicted as a frightening figure who existed between the real world and the supernatural, making her even more unsettling. What fascinates me about Baba Yaga is her dual nature: both a terrifying villain and a powerful, enigmatic force. As a child, her name alone was enough to evoke fear.
Do you like scary movies? And if so which ones?

I love watching scary movies, particularly those that explore the psychological aspects of a character's mind, movies like Get out, Hereditary and Smile.

What’s the biggest influence on your work?

The biggest influence on my practice is the exploration of darker themes, which allows me to delve into the complexity of emotions and external influences.
